A much better pro tip for life would be to increase the quality of people that you spend time with. Anyone who hassles you because you are choosing not to drink, regardless of your reason, does not deserve the company of another warm blooded individual.

Above all else, you need to allow yourself time to grieve. I get that your family looks to you for things, but it is absolutely imperative that you have time to process your emotions. There is unfortunately no shortcut for this, and no time table that can be given either. It will take you as long as it takes you, and that's okay.

Do what you can to give yourself that time. Don't neglect others, but don't neglect yourself either. Allow yourself to grieve, to feel the loss, to cry. That's the only thing that will help.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Longevity is the reason. You can grab cash by pumping out bad games and relying on notoriety/marketing to net you sales, but it only works a few times before people (customers) start remembering how they got burned before and stop buying. Once that happens, even producing an absolute banger of a game sometimes isn't enough to bring you back from the brink of shutdown.

Mobile games are a very different story.
