Reply to Watch the new movie Knock at the Cabin if you want to be utterly disappointed and gimmicked by Taylisenby
It's just a movie, it's not real. Why are you getting your panties in a bunch?
If you have legitimate criticisms about the film, you should try to express them a little bit better than "wtf there's religion in this movie!"
Unless you're a troll, in that case Bravo!

There's that whole tense scene in 'History of Violence' where Vigggo Mortensen is trying so hard to be polite to the thugs that come into his diner, but he knows that they mean trouble.

Pretty interesting article. This is a weird fucking topic. This idea that 'we can't upset anybody' is leading to some very strange shifts in artistic expression. I wonder if there will be some sort of major push-back in the near future in regards to this... I guess you could call it censorship at this point.

I'm kind of out of the loop here. Mario never even talks in the video games. How is his voice 'wrong'?

If we're going by looks, Hugh Jackman also was pretty miscast as Wolverine. In the comics he's usually portrayed as a short, hairy, kinda ugly guy. Jackson is none of those, but he definitely made that role his own.

I'm with you OP, I got so bored I checked to see if it was almost over, and saw that there was like an hour left until the end. Clicked it off, haven't tried to finish it.

Reply to Which movies do you believe didn't deserve the sequel they got or the franchise that it became? by Imposingtitle
The most basic of basic answers: Jurassic Park.
It was a great premise for a great (book) movie. Where do you go with this idea? Apparently nowhere except for the same tired retread of the first one. Dinosaurs get out, people run away from them. Rinse and repeat.
The worst part is, they could've actually gone in some interesting directions with this franchise, but alas...

Well, I don't want to come across as a dick, but it seems like if that's your main criticism, you might have missed the entire point of the film. I mean, they never even specify what exactly happened, because it didn't really matter for the story.

You don't remember the scene with Toni Collette (the mom) in the car at the end? It's like the heart of the whole film.

I can't think of a better example of a movie that you have to watch without looking anything up about it.
