This is what killed my younger siblings Elementary school Principle in the 90’s.
Driving down a Souther California Freeway, he was behind a dump truck, one of these came rocketing through his windshield. Killed him instantly.

I somehow managed to get Scarlet fever as a kid in the 80’s, I don’t remember much…but I do remember thinking how odd it was that they evacuated all the other people from the lobby once the doc had a good look at me.
