I’m curious: what’s changed with North Stonington over the years? I love that area, as it is very close to my hometown.

I’ve wondered the very same thing nearly every time I drive by the LJS on E Sunshine and see nobody (or very few) there. Haven’t been able to figure out how they stay in business, especially when we’ve seen other, much busier restaurants in the area go out of business.

Likely some motorcycle cops out there as well!

Not here to talk bad about anyone, but I was both shocked and disturbed that JRC invited Bill Johnson from Bethel Church (Redding, CA) to be a major part of a near week long program for the church. There’s been much written about this church leader, what he believes/teaches, what things go on in his church that are far from biblical. You may research him on your own if you so desire.

As far as JRC is concerned, does anyone else feel this is a “ clique-ish church? I’d be curious to hear from others because myself and others have found it very difficult to really meet and meaningfully connect others, not to mention make good, lasting friends there - despite serving and attending for years on end. Not that’s the primary reason for attending church, but it’s a part of it. The church (which is the people, not the building) is to be there for one another. Lastly, I’m not at at all trying to slam JRC, as I believe there to be many wonderful people that attend there.

That’s a thought. I haven’t been to Kansas City, MO lately, but they have a trolley that will take you from Union Station to the farmers market district just north of I-35 but still south of the river. The trolley may even be free.

I hear ya, cable & satellite TV are cash cows, similar to long distance telephone charges from back in the day - if you’re old enough to remember. Thanks for the helpful info, I appreciate it. I already have a Roku in use, so it’s just a matter of research now.

Has anyone purchased a Superbox to replace their cable or satellite TV service? I have 3 relatives (in 2 households) that went this route over a year ago and are very satisfied. Once you pay the cost of a Superbox, there are no monthly charges, unlike with cable and satellite TV bills! I’m sill riding the fence, but would love to drop my monthly satellite TV bill, so please provide any/all feedback. Thanks everyone!

This’ll likely date me, but I bought an ‘84 Mazda RX-7 GS (with their 12A carbureted rotary engine) back in ‘87. I had a HS friend that bought a 1985 Mazda GSL-SE (with their fuel injected 13B rotary engine). Needless to say, the GSL-SE was a real scorcher. Both great cars, but a significant difference in power. Fast forward seven years and I marry a gal with an ‘87 Mazda RX-7 (2nd Gen). By ‘99 or so, both of our rotary engines blew; we replaced them; sold one and traded in the other). Now that I’m older, I’d like to find a mint ‘85 Mazda GSL-SE, but they are like unicorns … super hard to find. The main problem I had with my RX-7 was having to repeatedly replace its alternator, as strange as that is. The nice thing about that era of sports cars is that they were affordable. You’re right though, the rotary does require maintenance, but it is a sweet engine. From what I remember, it’s engine revved quickly and as smooth as a sewing machine.

GL Moore off of E Chestnut Expressway. I’ve had several good experiences with them. They are honest and won’t try to rip you off. The last set of tires I had them install were purchased from Tirerack. Saved quite a bit of money. Then about two weeks later I see the same tire selling for less at Costco! (Based on this experience, I’ll always check both (Tirerack and Costco) before buying a set of tires from Tirerack.)
