In my opinion, a book is a book, no matter the medium. Paper pages, Kindle or similar, app on phone, audiobook, they all have their place in telling a story, and the method of delivering that story is subject to the consumer’s needs at that moment.

Arthritic hands? Kindle or other electronic reader. Unexpected delay at the bank? Open the app on your phone. Cross-country road trip? Audiobook through the car’s speakers.

There are times an audiobook can enhance the story. I’m specifically referring to Wier’s “Project Hail Mary,” in which the secondary character’s speech patterns are interpreted audibly by the narrator and sound effects.

The best thing about free speech is that we can all have an opinion. Yours is that audiobooks have no place in a book subreddit. Mine is that the story is what’s important and therefore audiobooks have a place here.

I’ve had a table outside the door for deliveries for years, started in the mid-2010s because that’s when I started working nights. Also, the signs reminding folk to not ring the doorbell.

But yeah, gloves and a Clorox Wipe on all surfaces of every delivery before bringing it inside.

I have yet to see a generic version of Advil Dual Action, which is truly a miracle pill.

And as an all-year-long “seasonal allergy” sufferer, there’s really no generic allergy medication that comes close to Zyrtec in relieving my allergy symptoms.

The generic version of BioFreeze has an odd odor, and seems greasier than the original.

There are justifiable reasons to not purchase generic medications.

If it is a book launch, you’ll want to wear something nice, be groomed, and be ready to participate in the applause for your friend’s mom’s new book. She may have a table to sit at to meet and greet fans who purchase her book, and may sign (autograph) books for them.

Collecting signed first edition books can be an exciting hobby, even for the casual reader.

In English, then, you’ll be expecting the parents/guardians of the book to gather at the front of the worship hall, in front of the congregation, and your minister will splash water on the book (hopefully the pages are waterproof) mumbling some ancient incantation. At the conclusion of the baptism, the book will be presented to the congregants as the congregation’s newest flock member.

What is the title of the book?

Considering the most well-known fault line, the San Andreas Fault, doesn’t run parallel to the state line, not likely. Indeed, the majority of the north-south fault lines are west of the San Joaquin valley and into the Bay Area and coast.

So while the chances of losing part of California to the Pacific are not zero, it’s even less likely the state will split from Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and Mexico along the state lines and international border.

(I live about 25 miles west of the San Andreas Fault, where it’s closest to me.)

I work 6:30pm-5am. I’ve invested in a blackout curtain for the bathroom/en-suite and a well-fitting sleep mask for darkness. A low dose of Melatonin helps me get back to sleep (I’m an extremely light sleeper.) I frequently use white noise to distract me from the neighbors’ motorcycles, parties, classic cars, and other neighborhood sounds - I particularly like rain.

My bed is comfortable. I keep the room temperature a little lower so I can snuggle and curl up in my covers. This is easier in cool months than, say, August.

I generally plan my meals by my body clock, so I’m eating oatmeal or an English muffin with coffee at 4pm, a sandwich or leftovers at 11:30pm, and a larger meal when I get home as my dinner. My slow cooker is amazing for that, I dump the ingredients in before I leave for work, and get home to a wonderful-smelling house and virtually zero prep.

I try to stay on my night schedule when I’m on my weekend, which is why it’s 3:45am and I’m listening to classical music as I’m working on my class in Employment Law.

Good luck!

So saying, “OP FU by using some random, used cotton pad on her intimate area that was left on the counter rather than having been thrown away” sounds better?

I’m not even going to address the lack of toilet paper, because whoever uses the last and fails to replace it needs to be cursed with the fleas of a thousand camels infesting their armpits.
