This is a real victory. Places like MIT that have nonprofit status and don’t pay local property taxes have a duty to be reasonably open to the public (except dorms and the nuclear reactor and so forth).

Emergency covid restrictions shouldn’t become a permanent power grab by institutions to limit access to public spaces.

You’re still relatively poor by Boston standards. Sorry. Nobody cares about your IRA and you can’t pay rent with that.

The move here is getting a co-signer or finding another landlord who is more flexible. They exist. Smalltime property owners will usually be more open than managed buildings that have strict policies.

It's amazing Arlington is now considered a rich people town. As recently as the 90s it was a squarely middle class, largely Catholic suburb. You had to go to Wellesley or Weston or parts of Belmont and Lexington to find the truly rich. Arlington was always fine but never considered one of the most desirable towns.
