There's a story about Sally Ride being asked if 100 tampons or pads would be enough for her during a shuttle mission, so it sounds like at least back in the 80s, they just used the same as what is common on earth.

Another thing about Legionella, the case that made it famous, was where it was growing in a cooling system. That involves significant changes in the air temperature, resulting in lots of condensation, making it real easy for the micro-organisms to get access to water.

I wouldn't call it a struggle, more that I just don't tend to put the effort into looking outside my preferred SF&F genre. Not to say that I haven't read novels from other genres, nor that I refuse to, just that there is so much within that genre, that I don't feel much need to branch out.

That book was written in 1985, so while it may not be a classic where everyone is expected to have heard the story, it's still old enough that people writing about it, aren't going to be too concerned about spoilers.

Storing it on its side is fine. Storing it with a normal wine stopper is not. You need one that is designed to hold the pressure in by gripping the ridges at the top of the bottle.

I did I don't care, I'm still going to make the point about how he's someone I don't have any interest in supporting. I find it funny that throughout this thread, you're saying that you didn't know about what a shit person he was, and sorta apoligise, but have kept up this thread about a shit person, rather than deleting your post.

So you're happy giving money and compliments to a person who thinks that you shouldn't exist, nor have equal rights?

It's a bit more than just not liking his worldview. I find his world view evil, and something that should be erased from the world. One way to do that, is to diminish the platform he has to project that. It's all about the marketplace of ideas, and his ideas don't sell well.

No thanks. He's an out and out homophobe who would be happy to use force to put them all back into the closet and breed. I have no interest in giving him any more money.

There is a prequel, at least in a thematic sense, it's called Animal Farm.

It's never explained how the party got to control Oceania, or it's citizens to such a degree. Orwell's other famous novel, Animal Farm however, does give you a way it could have happened, modelled on the October Revolution in Russia that led to Communist rule of that country.

That I've never heard. The story is usually brought up as an example of how men don't understand periods.
