Interesting. I prefer to wait a minute or two after my bagel is toasted so that the cream cheese doesn’t melt down. I wonder if most people just spread the cream cheese right on the hot bagel? That sounds nuts to me.

Simply Toast with cold cheese does not make for a grilled cheese.

Disagree as the cream cheese is meant to be served chilled. It’s not grilled into the bread.
