/facedesk. The Bible literally tells us to be good stewards of this planet. The book of Revelation just shows that humanity will still exist, not that we won't be living in a toxic wasteland of our own doing.

There is a deep disconnect between the city government and the state government in Jackson. Last I heard, the city effectively wanted a blank check to fix it while the state wanted an actual plan before releasing funding as the city has a history of mismanaging funding (see everything that lead to this exact situation as an example)

Adding on to it: that area is poor by even Mississippi standards. Standard building maintenance often straight up doesn't happen. Tarps are sometimes considered permanent roof repairs.
