I've been around long enough just as a commuter to see two serious wrecks with my own eyes, had one friend killed when he hit an animal crossing the road, and have another close acquaintance whose legs were seriously maimed (and yet he is still an avid bike enthusiast). It's not paranoia; it's pattern recognition!

I feel ya, but of course Boston Mag was gonna do a 10 year anniversary thing on these morons.

For Iraq introspection and remembering all our democratically elected morons who got us into that dumb and illegal war, you and I will just have to settle for the Useful Idiots podcast, or Breaking Points, etc.

Bypasses are devices that allow some people to dash from point A to point B very fast while other people dash from point B to point A very fast. People living at point C, being a point directly in between, are often given to wonder what's so great about point A that so many people from point B are so keen to get there, and what's so great about point B that so many people from point A are so keen to get there. They often wish that people would just once and for all work out where the hell they wanted to be. — Douglas Adams

For one thing, that's out of date. The U.S. has already labeled the Revolutionary Guard as terrorists. In response, Iran labeled CentCom as terrorists. All this name-calling hasn't helped anybody, AFAICT.

And, one of the other ideas from that link: that America's Congress should tell Iran to end the death penalty? Seriously? That's not exactly the right messenger considering Congress is perfectly happy to have the death penalty here at home.

Ending the embargoes would be a good start. It's actually bizarre to me that Trump came in like a wrecking ball to our existing deals with Iran, and Biden still hasn't lifted a finger to repair the damage.

Or in the checkout line at Amazing Intimate Essentials.

Oh, what do you got there Sally? Huh, I didn't even know they made gasoline powered ones. How many horse power...? Oh, never mind, my mistake - I saw the word "horse" on the box and just assumed. Well, anyway, um, have fun!

That's why it's the best kind of protest. It doesn't bring attention to an issue the media hasn't already decided to tell everyone about. It's doesn't demand any sort of a actual response from the government. But, in ten years, they can claim they "made a difference" as long as no one asks any follow up questions to nail down the timeline. It's win/win!

What do we want?

What's already happening!

When do we want it?

In a timely fashion as determined by the justice system!
