Google and read other articles. As already said, she ran away at 15. She also stated that she had a bad childhood, was sheltered and not allowed out, and the reason she was given was that she was brain damaged from a home birth. It doesn't sound like she's at all upset to find out that her "mother" was her kidnapper (or an accomplice) and not really her mother.

This is in the United Kingdom. It's a summary offense there.

The landlords seem to be the ones truly breaking laws here.
