Reply to Denied from serving in the ROCAF for being a woman, Hazel Ying Lee (李月英) became the first Chinese-American to serve in the WASPs in WWII by Remarkable-Rough-554
Due to a control tower error she was killed in an air crash in 1944. Her brother was killed a couple of days later in combat in France.
Her family had to fight to have her and her brother buried in a cemetery in Portland Oregon, because of restrictions on where Asians could be interred.

Huh, you'd have to get both shoe size and leg-length right.
The first Star Trek movie (Star Trek: The Motion Picture) had uniforms where the shoes were built into the pant legs. Apparently it was an enormous hassle getting them properly fitted and attached.
Quoting the Wikipedia article on the film:
