It's very easy to get into. Pretty much a glorified pedometer. No where near as complex or demanding as Pokemon Go, and for some that may make it boring, but it gets me outside to breath fresh air and excercize so I enjoy it. They're likely about to do a big event that will let you claim some of the otherwise exclusive badges from earlier in the year so now is a good time to get into it.
Always good to meet a fellow pikmin fan though, I'm one of the biggest.
