I've lived around the corner from Supremo for years. There's a lot not to like, but their produce is usually better than ShopRite for what it's worth. It's no farm stand, but it's decent for the basics and better for anything you might need for Latin-American dishes.

Yeah? My concern is the house is way old, and things aren't exactly up to code as of now. I feel like their standard go-to options won't work for one reason or another. Like, their design plans include recessed lights but we find out the house isn't wired to support that (that's a bad example, but you know what I mean). But maybe I'm just not giving them enough credit for what they do.

And percentage based tips for delivery. Delivery was always like, a couple bucks. Maybe more if it was raining or a huge order. 20% on delivery on top of all the wild fees is a little crazy to me. They’re not coming inside and serving me the food, they’re dropping off a bag of cold overpriced shit.

Obligatory disclaimer that I’m a habitual good tipper in restaurants, even for “bad service.” But the takeout and delivery tip expectations are out of control these days.

Especially if Jersey City—and Journal Square specifically—want to keep building skyscrapers and filling them with new residents. This will keep getting worse far faster than any of the minuscule "enhancements."

Remember when "Positive Train Control" or whatever it was took like 5 years to implement? Having been a PATH commuter for like 15 years now (before Sandy, after Sandy, before COVID, after COVID), I can't say it's been noticeably better.
