1/4 the power, 1/2 the noise. You'll hear a bit less noise for a whole lot longer. Not a great trade.

We have this in Greenwich, and honestly it's worthless. I care that it is going on all day while I'm working from home, not in the two hours between work and sunset.
But cutting down to just 4hrs/day would make it tough to earn a buck for a whole lot of people.

Yup, it all comes out in the wash while you're still earning a paycheck. Where some states have major advantages in taxes is when you retire and are no longer paying income tax.

What am I missing on t bills? Am I reading it correctly I can earn more on a three month t bill than I would for a year on a HYSA?

No reason for the snark, it's why this sub exists. Anyway, a few years ago I had about $30k cash and was actively saving for a down payment. My income went up a good bit and I didn't change my plan. Couple years later and the balance has gone up while I never found a place.
I also didn't grow up with much, so I am risk adverse and subconsciously inclined to find comfort in having more cash on hand than I need.

Oh, it's already dropped 40%, and it all very conveniently happened during a trading blackout window :)
What HYSAs are paying that much? I only see mid 3's

You won't find them in the woods unless you're looking for them. Don't worry about it.

Bowling alleys are historically kinda seedy, but I do get your point. I have only known it as Moose Alley, and only known it to be a place that is a decidedly adult bar after 8-9pm, which is usually when the music starts anyway. Same crowd as sarge's once a night gets going. Never been there in the summer, though - probably a different vibe, "lake vacation" stuff.

Much more of a honky tonk bar and restaurant than a bowling alley in my mind. At least after a certain time.

I dunno, this could have been written by half the bartenders there. It gets rowdy especially when the full regional sledneck cohort is there getting hammered, and they still maintain order with good humor to boot

Mark Andreas in those warehouse studio/lofts in Glenbrook Road might rent his shop out. There are other carpentry and cabinetmaker shops in there as well who may. Just go knock on doors there, follow your nose to the woods shops

You're so right. On a recent trip to my local coffee shop, two 12oz cold brews and two almond croissants was $33 with tax, before tip. It's always good to remind myself why I suffer Dunks.

Plenty of places north of the Merritt could be a half day job, but those aren't the places worried about leaf blower noise either, I guess.
I had a lawn business years ago in the DC area, and it's really tough to make decent money without scale. Had one good cash cow: with three guys, I'd do 44 lawns every other Thursday. Slumlord owned about 3 consecutive blocks of Section 8 duplexes in a rough part of town. Small, flat, identical lawns with no landscaping or fences, and all in a row, it took about nine and a half hours of pure hustle and paid $1400. God bless that dirtbag.
