For a two-star restaurant, you're looking at an average of $250 per diner for the tasting menu, for a three-star restaurant, $350 per diner for the tasting menu. Beverages are usually separate, with wine pairings, you can definitely get north of $500 per diner.

True, but the German U-Boats crews that hunted them had an even higher casualty rate: 75%. The Merchant Marine rate was around 3.9%.

Gas stations make a profit of between 3 and 7 cents per gallon. This chart illustrates Oil and Natural Gas profits against the S&P 500 for the past five years. What people don't seem to realize that the oil industry age shit through 2020. Now they're earning those losses back, is all.

The Dow Jones and S&P 500 are NOT the same things as the entire market. The S&P 500 are the largest 500 companies listed, and the Dow is an index of 30 huge, established companies. Both of these indicies err towards stability, not growth. If you wanted to invest in a company with growth potential, would put your money into a new business with lots of potential, or a huge business which has already reached that potential?

You mean small states like New Hampshire, Delaware, Rhode Island, Connecticut, or Vermont?

And that would matter if it were the United People of America, but it's the United States of America, and it's states that get votes, apportioned by their population, and weighted to ensure that small states aren't bullied by big ones.

He's elected in the exact same process every Prime Minister is elected: By a selection process by the MPs of his own party, who have a majority in Parliament. Besides, Boris Johnson was "elected by the people", and he's a giant twat, which is why Sunak is being selected to replace him in the first place.
For that matter, so was Donald J. Trump. My point is, don't be quite so precious as to the judgment of the electorate, and you'll look like less of a doofus.

Speaking as someone who's been to a few Michelin star places, as well as more that aspire to be, while they're definitely an extravagant exerise, you on no account need to visit one of these venues for great food. The places which get michelin stars are as much about presentation and service as it is about the food. Make no mistake, the food is good, even great, but you can get great food for less.
