It’s still very fascinating though even if it is saddled with an unfortunate headline.
The most immediate application I can think of for this is a very precise waste heat management system that would help keep qubits coherent.

It kind of is.
When we’re going down to that level, the definition of ‘nothing’ becomes difficult to define.

Headline is misleading.
What’s being demonstrated here is quantum teleportation of energy between two entangled atoms.

North Korea is interesting.
They’re an agrarian state essentially, yet simultaneously are bad at farming and have pretty much been depleting their own soil since the regime came into power.

Yeah but this applies to everything really.
Manufacturing solar panels and processing metals require electricity on Earth as well.
Nevertheless it’s simply a matter of a one time investment of energy getting you a solar cell that will repay it over time.

That’s not the point of quantum computers.
Its not about making faster classical computers. But rather that quantum computers could potentially solve problems and do things that classical computers cannot practically do irregardless of how good they are.

From what I’ve read it apparently to do with government mismanagement and badly thought out agricultural reform.
Apparently in recent years the government has been trying to find more and make more arable land and that rice production has been falling.
