Reply to Power Outages by geekpgh
We had a few power blips over the course of the afternoon, and my work's alarm company just called a few minutes ago to report a power outage in our main building (and a successful live run on our battery backup)
With any luck if you lose your fridge contents you can get compensated by the power company. Might be time for a late night ice cream party!

Terry has owned those lots since at least 2010 if not earlier, weird that the article says 2021. She's been shorting contractors on pay since as long as I've been in the neighborhood. I've talked to many over the years, I'll be surprised if she gets another team in there, she's notorious and nobody who's worked for her has had anything good to say.
I'll probably die of old age myself before she opens anything there.

Yeah, it's at the intersection of Perrysville Avenue and Legion, just over from North Charles. So it's Perry Market, the old theater, empty lot, Legion, then Wilson's on that side

I didn't realize that was a continuation of another business. I take it the food was good?
I'm close enough I could probably hit the side of their building with a rock and I've been watching that building go from "Wow, why has that not been torn down yet" to "Huh, someone could move in there tomorrow" over the last year and a half.

Well, yeah, safety goes hand in hand with handling guns, I don't consider that to be political

You can come with me up to the Wexford state game lands range next time I go up on a nice day if you want, I have a wide range of guns from .22lr pistols to a suppressed .300Blackout AR15, and the only politics I'll discuss are the things you need to be aware of as far as laws and keeping yourself legal

I use the Blink xt2 cameras with a 16GB USB stick plugged into the sync module, and solar panels to power them. No subscriptions, no changing out batteries, easy phone viewing at any time, two way talking, etc. I love them.

I didn't say there weren't. Maybe "global helium shortage" would be a good time to just go without balloons full of it for a bit. Just inflate some with your lungs and tie them up high.

I've worked at the high school both just on the grounds and actually 'embedded' (babysitting) with the kids on and off for the past 12 years doing security for events, so I've had a lot of time just watching the kids and the parents interact naturally.
You could not be more correct, in my experience.

Reply to Question for those from the north side…: by hambone012
There's a lot of reasons but #1 is probably crime, followed by blight. "The North Side" is over a dozen neighborhoods. Perry South, Marshall-Shadeland, and a few others are not the 'desirable' ones.
When people talk about how much they love the North Side, how great it is, etc., they mostly mean the Mexican War Streets.
