Games can be pretty similar, but the music, artwork, physics engine, movement and gameplay can be big factors in how much you like a game and are often overlooked compared to things like graphic detail, target audience and the story.
I love first person shooters, but some of them just feel wrong. I used to love final fantasy games because of the stories, but I really dislike the open world hack and slash with bad guys everywhere 🤷♂️
