2nd this. I grew up here and it’s the kind of place where there might be only one or two families of color in an entire town. It’s a bit weird compared to other places.

Lived in the Manchester Vernon line years ago. It was great! Close to stores and highway while also having easy access to the woods or trails. Not sure about schools.

I think the racist part of the state is further out from Hartford than Glastonbury. Windham and New London county can be a bit more conservative with some bastions of klan activity. Otherwise people are extremely tolerant.

There is a Buddhist based 12 step that meets out of Middletown. I’ve heard good reports about it.
