I’m not that shocked by the Fetterman thing and I’m a little surprised that so many others are.
Everyone keeps talking about how Trump defies political gravity on the right, and that’s absolutely true. However, for that exact same reason, the gravity has changed on the left as well.
In consolidating power on the right and getting so much support amongst those supporters, all of that same rhetoric has also galvanized the left and codified an ardent opposition against him and his candidates.
I don’t know why people keep losing sight of that?
For the exact same reason that Trump is so popular among the far right and the Christian right, that is exactly why he is so unpopular with everyone else.
That’s the problem that the GOP faces and why it truly is a deal with the devil.
And this isn’t going to end politely or gentlemanly for the GOP. It’s going to be a hot fucking mess.
I can’t wait to see what scorched earth bullshit he and Ron DeSantis pull on each other. I just hope that DeSantis prevails just so that Trump will run as a third-party candidate and really fuck them over one last time.

This teacher is obviously being disingenuous. However, I’ve never understood why you have to use pronouns at all in these situations?
If you are so offended by pronouns then don’t use them. However, you will have to go by their name and if they tell you to refer to them as Adam but you’ve only ever known them as Eve, call them Adam.
If they continue to refer to you as Eve you simply say that’s not my name and refuse to respond to a name that is not yours.
If he punishes you for it, you ask him to cite other examples where he called someone by their wrong name and they were punished for his mistake.
I will guarantee you she can find examples from that school where kids have changed last names due to adoption or other paternity issues and some have probably changed first names as well.
Put the onus on him and his behavior! This isn’t about a trans student, this is about an asshole who is getting his rocks off on bullying a trans teenage kid.
Of course he won’t see it that way and he will never agree to call a trans kid by their preferred name just like he will call them by their preferred pronoun. However, you’re not trying to win him over, you’re trying to win over reasonable people. This approach at least it takes away that bullshit argument and puts the onus back on his bigotry, not the school’s policy.

Reply to “Kennywood’s Open” by Fuzzy_Baseball9006
I have a great story about this.
I was living in Orlando working for Disney. This was right after college.
I was out one night with a bunch of my friends and we ran into a group of young attorneys at a conference who were all from Pittsburgh of all places.
My friends call me over to talk to these guys and they start asking me all kinds of questions about Pittsburgh, and make me prove that I am a true Yinzer.
It’s mostly landmark stuff and a few sports questions, but it ends with a guy saying, “OK, this will settle it once and for all. If you can answer this question right, I’ll know you are truly a Yinzer and I’ll pick up everyone’s tab.”
He then asks me, “What does it mean if I tell you, ‘Kennywood’s open?’”
My friends all look at each other quizzically because nobody has any idea what the hell we are talking about.
I reflexively look down at my pants and say, “I hope it doesn’t mean that I’m about to be really embarrassed.”
BOOM! That was it!
The group of attorneys burst into laughter, and that was it. I was definitely a true Yinzer and we were officially all friends! We shared a bunch of beers for the rest of the night, and they paid for everything. Really, their law firm, I’m sure, paid for everything. Still, that was a good cheap night.
