With 10 years of experience you can probably start in the middle of that range. But, also I wanted to add that not every agency that hires for the state uses the civil service board. The NJ department of labor and NJ OHSP are two that maintain their own job boards. Look them up directly for more jobs.

The health benefits are good. You can negotiate the step that you start on if they do offer you a position.

It’s based on pre-defined steps and experience. Chances are you’ll start out on the low end of the range and work your way up with annual-ish step increases.

Yeah, sounds like a PPA with the 20 year term. After that they’ve got a less-than-efficient system in their roof and Trinity has sucked all the incentives out of. Add on top that PPA panels do nothing for your property value and make it another logistic to handle if you want to sell your home.
Do yourself a solid OP, work with someone that will sell you a system and get all of the benefits.

There’s no need to abandon your current bank entirely. You can keep your current bank for the deposits and day-to-day banking, but transfer excess out to an Ally savings account. Typically less than 2 business days, sometimes faster depending on your bank. This is what I do, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Ally. FWIW they are part of the allpoint atm network, so you’d be able to use any of those ATMs for cash if you opened a checking with them: https://www.ally.com/bank/find-atms/
