That's a shame, I had really been enjoying not paying for parking there.

Reply to Is Yonkers considered safe? by idrugzs
I used to live right next to Glenwood, although I moved away from there in 2007 and can't really comment on how much it has or hasn't changed since then.
Back then, it was not considered an especially unsafe part of Yonkers, and I'd never had issues around there during the day. But it wad pretty unsettling at night. The further south you go on Warburton from Glenwood, the less good it gets.
Personally, I wouldn't go walking around there at night, but I'm also a pretty risk averse person and I'm sure a lot of people do it without any problems. In my time living there, I had seen some crazy things happen. Seen a (seemingly) random guy get pulled out of his car and beaten by 4 guys with bats. Have seen people pull out guns during verbal spats on the sidewalks, though thankfully they were not fired.
In general, Yonkers is very safe as long as you avoid a couple of sketchy neighborhoods. That area of Warburton may still be one of those neighborhoods.
If you go up Warburton towards the Greystone station, it is absolutely safe and I've never really worried about my safety at night getting off the train. So keep in mind that not all of Warburton is bad.

Cops, and people who don't actually pay attention to politics.

Yeah, those were fake tickets. If you read the fine print, you'd see they were just reminders that they were strongly suggesting you pay, not that they were required of enforceable in any way.
