I don’t get how you can type out a comment like this and think “mainstream media propaganda” is why somebody would hesitate before visiting Central WA

Stick to i90, interstate gets the highest priority and money for road plowing. Take a car with blizzaks and AWD, drive slowly. Check wadot twitter before you go
You might know how to drive in winter but assume everybody else around you doesn’t. Daily life in western WA does not translate to the extreme winter conditions found in the passes and people crash all the time.

Used to have a spec e36 3er id take down to Kent for track days but I sold it some years ago. Now Ive got the E92, a NB miata im in the process of turning into a track car, and my trusty 2nd gen Tacoma for mountain purposes (and when my BMW breaks down lol)
I've heard very good things about the Michelins. Pretty hard to shop for winter shoes since they're a bit overkill for normal usage in Western WA but absolutely essential for crossing the passes. Ive generally stuck to blizzaks on my taco but I need a new set next year anyway, maybe Ill try these

haha blizzaks or not Im way too scared to take my baby out when it snows. Even if I get through ok always the chance someone brakes far too late and wipes me out

awd + chains should be fine but practice putting them on before youre stuck on the side of the highway
awd + traction tire is even better
stick to i90 and check the wsdot twitter before you go

There is no snow on i5 between Portland and Seattle. If you can make it to Portland might as well go all the way

Seriously. The whole process of opening my ballot envelope, filling it out, and submitting it to my local drop box took maybe 25 minutes

In my opinion any AWD with 3 peak tires is the better option for going into the mountains during winter. Black ice is more of a problem than snow cover especially on i90 where its always plowed. Never needed to chain up with 3 peak tires

This is in the mountains. 99.9% chance it won't snow during your trip unless you're going into the cascades
