You can look for ASTAP and DeepSkyStacker. Those are another programs to stack images.. i use windows, i am not sure if Mac runs those programs

Yes friend, i used to take single pictures of 10/15 seconds of exposure and the milky way looked nice. BUT, the more exposure time you have... The more details and the more bright, the milky way looks. So, stacking images is the best if you want to get a WOW picture. I have 4 minutes of exposure in this image.. imagine the ones who take 10 minutes of exposure

The aperture of the telescope is 102mm which means i have 1000mm to reach objects in the sky. I shot the moon at 6pm while the sun was still high in the sky, that's why I used 1/200. I have a 75-300mm lens, and shooting at 300mm doesn't let you come close to the moon so i am not sure if you can have a nice photo of the moon with 200mm, BUT... you can use those 2.8 to do deep sky photography

As an advice, i think you better get a refractor telescope because the quality of image you can get compared with a reflector, is HUGE. Probably a bit more expensive than reflectors.. but the better the telescope, the expensive it is. Mine is a 102mm one, with 1000mm focal

Yes, the t-ring is just the extension of the DSLR camera that goes inside the telescope, so.. you use the telescope focuser to get the better result in the image you are seeing through the DSLR screen. That's how i do it.
