It's brighter and 4x larger than the Orion Nebula but because it's only visible in Southern skies the Eta Carinae Nebula doesn't get as much love as Orion. At 7,500 light years away it's a huge nebula that is close to the Southern Cross and visible all night.

All shot from my back garden in Christchurch, New Zealand (Bortle 6) - A total of 48 x 300s light exposures were taken with 60 flats, 60 darks, 30 Dark Flat frames for calibration for a total of 4 hours of light data and just over 9 hours of total integration time.

Integrated in Pixinsight and edited with BlurXterminator, StarXterminator, Photoshop CS, and Capture One

I post shit like this all the time on Insta (@EkantV) and Facebook (EkantTakePhotos) but I'm usually just a sarcastic dick on Twitter, so don't follow me there.

Henrietta Rocks with the beach behind me - was thinking of doing some astro over the water but wasn't working out. This is definitely a composite because I didn't have my tracker with me, but the alignment is approximate. Shot with a Sony A6400 and 16-55mm lens.

If I had a dollar for every time this was asked on this sub.

Probably everything you see posted will have some editing applied and whenever you see the detail like this of course it's because of long exposure. This isn't even an accurate alignment at this time of year! But this alignment is possible, I just wasn't there at the time to capture it. But I did take all the elements that make up this composite.

Clearly a composite...definitely not a single click. It's the wrong time of year and there's a bird sitting still on the tractor! But I was driving south out of my home city in New Zealand, saw the tractor, had an idea and pulled over to got the foreground shot. Merged with a shot of the MW I took earlier in the year.

All shot by me (just at different times, but this alignment is possible at the right date/time of year) on a Sony A7iii with a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 lens.
