Not really. They give 2 paragraphs emphasizing the danger. Then without any rhetorical device connecting it like a transitional expression, they present a new paragraph with a citation from the CDC decreasing the strength slightly while still emphasizing danger then at the end of that paragraph say the DEA says you aren't going to die from it. It absolutely isn't in the next sentence it is in a different paragraph from his statement.

Around the time you were posting this the schools were putting out closure notices, so maybe they were calling off because they knew they were going to have their kids? It does seem like we jump the gun a bit, like it isn't particularly cold and even my road that doesn't ever get plowed/salted is clear, but that being true doesn't open the schools again.

I can't find a source right now, and very well could be mistaken so if someone can confirm or deny this it would be great, but:

When I first moved here I am positive I read that this is intentional, that they staggered the light timing to make it more likely that cars will have to come to a complete stop every few blocks to reduce overall speed and accidents.

It took years of fighting and getting bounced from person to person to get it canceled, which is wild considering I was trying to cancel it because their personal trainer (who I hired for safety not motivation) landed me the hospital for 2 weeks.
