Firstly, thank you.
Secondly, with a little bit of know how and a lot of luck. Firefalls ( Horsetail Falls ) is a section of granite on the east side of El Capitan in Yosemite. In February for a few weeks each year the sun hits this part of the wall just right. Now of course you need a waterfall so that means there needs to be plenty of snowmelt or precipitation and it has to be a clear sunny day and warm enough not to freeze. Otherwise, get your reservations make the trek and find the spot and the rest is easy!

I always tell people when visiting Redwoods NP that the the Redwood Creek overlook is a must for sunset.

Yup! My reservation was for the 11th and it’s good until the 18th. Obviously weekdays are going to be less people but it all depends on the forecast to be sure it’s going to happen. Honestly they’ve mitigated things so well that even if it’s packed it will be fine.
