Oh yeah. Started researching early at age zero in New London. Patsy's on Bank and Joe's on Shaw. Good times. Not to mention Tony Mae for ice cream.

What do you add to your calzone? Me I get a little sausage, some spinach and extra ricotta.

So that would be a loaf of white Italian bread, about a half cup of olive oil, 1/2 pound of provolone, 1/2 pound of capicola, a thick sliced fresh tomato, a couple handfuls of thinly sliced iceberg lettuce, salt, black pepper, a little dried hot pepper flakes, right? Wrapped in butcher paper with a some masking tape.

The scurrying is kind of fun. There's not much going on in my office so we all got busy talking about amazing snow stories of the past. I plan to stay home and get caught up on petting the cat.

I dunno about public transportation as I live in a town with one bus, no taxi service, and pretty sketchy Uber service. I would caution you to choose your city only after contacting their town hall to be sure you will be able to find ways to get around. I have never, since age 16, been without a car. Some were pretty crappy for sure, lol. But I think a car is an absolute necessity.🚗🚗🚗

The middle one is so handsome. This looks like a still from an old movie. What were these guys thinking about when the picture was taken? Intriguing.

The food in CT is not consistently as fresh as CA, esp veg. We have seasonal fruit and veg but in winter everything is from elsewhere. Our food in general is heavier and we have more overweight people, lol, since the weather makes us want to hibernate. And everywhere in CT, people talk about the weather non-stop, no matter if it's hot or cold, and obsessively watch the weather to comment about it.

Cats.🙀 And I have one I love dearly! It's worse in the winter since I can't open windows and doors. I use OTC loratadine, which I believe is generic Claritin. 💊
Edited to add that I have a prescription nasal spray which really helps since I am reluctant to take meds every day.

I hadn't thought of it in terms of soft targets. We in SE CT used to talk about how Groton with it's submarines would be a first choice. I have always thought that if nukes fell, there would be no problem for me as I would be dead in the explosion. If I have to live with the fallout, then I might as well end it myself as soon as the news reaches me.
Edited to add that I am not depressed and do not need a reddit care message. TIA, I am fine 😊

I disagree because if they hit the naval base in Groton, I am within the strike zone. They would want to disable our defenses more than the big cities, I would think. It's a 14- mile radius for instant death, as I recall hearing in school. I may be wrong on that distance.

It is a great art city. There is always a young population due to its having two very expensive colleges. It has a kind of grunge rock feel to it. Try staying at a hotel for a couple of weeks before you rent an apartment. As stated earlier, there are parts of it that are sadly shabby, not cute shabby, but run down and miserable. Be picky, my friend, and you can live a good life in new London!

This is very well stated. The only thing is, if a nuclear strike is let loose on the east coast, all you can actually do is prepare to meet your Higher Power as your human body is vaporized. 🙏
