This is a very good number, comparable to the EV battery charging efficiency of 90%. AND, unlike the battery, the number of charge/discharge cycles is not limited for the hydroelectric storage!

At that time, clothes, especially female clothes, were hard to make and very expensive. One dress with a corset could have been worn easily for 10 -15 years after renovations, fixes etc.
