You have them connected to a source with high output impedance which will make them overly bassy and "muddy".

Rockin my HD700's atm. I think they are more comfortable than the HD800 because of the smaller cups that doesn't sit on my cheekbones.

The pads for the HD600 are also updated, for the better imo. Seems to have been out of stock for a while now tho.

Please, not this quote again, I don't know if I should laugh or cry. Probably both.
You're simply changing the amplitude of a frequency, just like when you lower or higher your volume. You're not making the drivers go sideways or whatever you now believe EQ does.
