she was launched into the woods while racing with her friend along the edge of the trail. with all the snowmaking the trails just dips off at the edges

she was wearing a helmet, it got removed when she was launched into the woods by a mogul on the side of the trail

FOR EVERYONE WONDERING:
yes. she was wearing a helmet. she was racing with a friend and hit a mogul too close to the side of the trail, launching her into the woods and removing her helmet in the process. she wasn't a beginner, she was a seasons pass holder and skied almost everyday of the week with her friends

skiing along the side is actually what caused her to go into the woods, she was extremely good at skiing and unfortunately hit a mogul sending her into the woods
