- Make sure your devices are charged up
- Have a full tank of gas in your car - you can go out and sit in it to warm up
- Have a flashlight with fresh batteries
- If you have an outside grill, make sure the tank is full
- If your stove-top is natural gas, have some matches so you can light it
- You can layer your clothes, extra blankets, etc on your bed to create as thick a layer as possible over you while you sleep

Look it over good before you sign anything. Look for signs of mold/mildew especially on walls, near windows, along the edges of the floor, etc. If there is a rug, get down and sniff it for mold

Agreed, that they're legally required, I'm just also wondering if they're not doing anything beyond what is minimally required by the contract

Its because everything is bid out based on lowest cost. So things like cops that aren't strictly necessary for safety at the construction site, just don't get hired anymore because they're too expensive
