“Titled "Embrace," the 20-foot high statue was unveiled in Boston on Saturday, January 14, in the U.S.' oldest city park, Boston Common. Weighing 309 pounds, the statue sits on the site where the civil rights leader gave a speech on April 23, 1965.”

Regardless of whether it is ugly or not, how can a 20 foot high statue weigh only 309 pounds? Is it made out of marshmallow? If so, it’ll take care of itself after a couple of rains.

This tattoo is the very essence of irony, since the Bible forbids making marks on your skin. “You will not make cuttings in your flesh, for the dead, nor print marks on you” (Leviticus 19:28). Also, something about graven images. So, yeah. You might want to read the User Manual if you’re going to claim to be a Christian.

“In hindsight, I realize how my handling of this matter could be viewed as inappropriate, but that was certainly not my intent,” she said.

Yup, another disingenuous apology by someone who knows what she did was wrong. “Could be viewed as inappropriate “?!?!? Please explain how this could be viewed any other way. Being a cop should be the easiest job to lose. Any sign of integrity issues, dishonesty, or incompetence should result in immediate dismissal with no chance of being a cop ever again. I’d also like to see them have double jeopardy, so that they get twice the penalty as non-cops when they break the law.

Basically, capitalism is ruining science. The pressure to publish and to have results that support your hypothesis incentivizes people to cheat. Should we be surprised?

As long as these are human-controlled, where a human makes the decision to fire; then I’m good with this. This is similar to allowing police to use firearms, which gives them the ability to engage at a distance instead of fighting with knives, clubs, or hands. A robot can engage in situations that may be too dangerous for a human. That seems good to me.
