I just looked that up and that's an amazing concept! Unfortunately here it's where only the note on the phone survived the transition.

For some reason I can't access your comment to reply to it.
My suggestion is using UV light on it, I have a feeling regular flashlights don't work as they aren't UV

I don't think they would have drowned, especially with the life preservers on them. It was only waist deep it sounds like at first. Like maybe it could have drowned a couple close to where the water was entering but not everyone there. I could see pressure knocking them out but not killing them

Get into some witchcraft. One thing you need is to burn sage in the house to cleanse it. I also recommend looking up ways to banish spirits

I wonder what she really was. Was she actually a siren? Or another species of merfolk?
Somewhat surprising for how much she risked though. If she had stayed in that boat, she could have been captured by the crew.
Also still odd how they all died. Only reason I can think you lived was that water sealed the bottom of the bathroom door and some kind of gas got released into the main area that killed everyone. You may had suffered the same fate if you weren't in the bathroom or even if the plane didn't break apart. Otherwise there's nothing I can think of that would cause death to everyone but you. If it was impact then you definitely would have died.
I also just had an idea. A somewhat shark (or other sea creature) virus similar to vampirism. Basically where a person gets bit by something and they slowly turn into what was seen here. Maybe it's a form of adaptation to help a person survive in the sea.

Sounds like you experienced a time travel ripple. I don't know the proper name for it but basically the person in the suit was one experiencing early time travel. Problem is, while the person in the suit would have traveled properly, you were caught in the wave and it transported you as well.
As this would count towards evidence of time travel existing, they had to fix the timeline to where you never had that experience.
This lead to both experiences of you having traveled through time and where you lived life normal, to both happen but you're on the fixed timeline. Time is a funny thing though and glitches can allow information to transfer. It's hard to explain in words.
Basically you got time traveled accidentally and then the time travelers fixed the timeline so you didn't time travel. You're note traveled over as soon as time caught up to the same moment.
The one in the suit is probably keeping an eye on you to see if you show any chance of exposing what happened. I suggest not confronting them otherwise they will have to try and fix the timeline again. Or who knows, maybe only certain people can have experiences that leaks information through timelines and if they discover that you are one of them then they may attempt to recruit you.

I think the problem of burning the painting is that you didn't use salt. Salt is used in many different factors to ward away evil spirits. Holy water is actually where salt has been blessed and mixed into water then blessed again.
If you choose to keep the painting, get a picture frame with enough room that you can place a line of salt in. Or other methods I bet you could figure out

Reply to He Always Kissed Me With His Eyes Open, And Now I Know Why... by therealdocturner
I'm curious... do you know if rocking chairs helps with anxiety? I've lived with anxiety my entire life and always have found rocking chairs calming.
Quite the brutal experience, and I'm sorry to hear you had to go through all of that.
Back when I was with my ex, I would kiss her with my eyes open sometimes. I wanted to look into her eyes as I did it. I've always been able to read a person a bit by their eyes, and anytime I saw her eyes open with mine, I felt the love she had for me as well. Eyes are often described as windows to the soul after all.
What I find incredibly odd is how the detective brought up the cellular memory. More often than not, people of the law don't talk about things that are unnatural. I could see them mentioning the connection of the transplant of your husband to him, but normally, they don't mention anything like non natural situations. It makes me wonder if they've dealt with cases like yours before.
I think the reason Feivel always trusted Joshua is because of the eyes. He recognized James' eyes and parts of his personality.
Despite this wild situation, I truly believe James was watching over you. And I don't mean that as a pun because Joshua had his eyes. I think James was partly there with that cellular memory combined with his soul. James just wasn't strong enough to take hold or control of him, unfortunately, so all he could do was watch. Still, he was strong enough to hold on and see your daughter, I think that shows how much the 3 of you meant to him. You picked the right man to marry, and I'm sorry for your loss.
