Congrats. Not everyone would rather, and MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY, some literally do not have that luxury. People work second jobs, have day care arrangements complicating things, and have employers that are shitty and will fire you after being late just twice.
Not everyone gets to just "plan to arrive early" when they are rushing from one shift to another, and/or trying to hit their kid's daycare before it closes and they start being fined for being late.

There’s no phone number on his tag that shows in the picture, I’m guessing, just his name? That’s so frustrating!
As a husky owner, they are definitely runners, so thank you for taking care of him!

It's like the people who answer the questions on an Amazon product with "I don't know, I got it for my sister so never opened the package".
Maybe just don't answer if you don't know the actual answer?

Right, that’s why the hotels have those things.

Right, agree. But the comment made it seem as if she needed to be asked to resign/retire in order to do so, and that no one had asked yet, so she didn’t.

What do you mean, “given a chance” to retire? She was a SCOTUS judge, she could retire whenever she wanted.

They’re certainly taking over this sub. I love bikes but man it’s literally every other post these days.
Maybe some of this content can go to r/bikedc for those of us less obsessed?

Sounds like someone in crisis tried to suicide, and was then extricated via rescue crew. What additional detail are you seeking? Privacy laws exist for a reason.

Not everyone lives close to a metro line, and if your route involves a transfer and you have a large suitcase or two, it becomes a pretty big haul.
In those cases I just Uber, which apparently doesn't work for OP, but I totally get not wanting to metro.

And also criticized French law enforcement for not searching hard enough. Talk about fulfilling all stereotypes of the entitled American. Not helpful, dude.

You're absolutely right on metro, my apologies my comment wasn't very clear. I was thinking (but didn't write) more in terms of bike lanes being added, scooters becoming available, and some pedestrian improvements (but not nearly enough).
There have been incremental improvements on that end, but metro has indeed degraded in service and options for those with limited mobility have lessened, not increased.

I’ve lived in DC over 15 years, and the infrastructure has gotten better over the years in terms of non-car transport becoming more favored, not worse. But the last three years it’s gotten so much more dangerous out there with antisocial behavior from drivers.
The infrastructure is just a tool they are now using, not the cause.

A ton of providers have opted out of Medicare, what are you talking about? It’s a huge problem with regard to getting needed care by specialists in many areas of the country.
ETA: the MA plans still absolutely are evil, but going the traditional Medicare route also has shortcomings.
