I was more talking about alternatives to chains in general. One of the best restaurants in concord, for instance, is situated exactly in a strip mall. An og strip mall from the dawn of strip malls. Kathmandu bazaar is an ethnic grocery with a food counter. Place is amazing. I want more of that. Not FoodCorp's latest territorial infiltration, if that makes sense. This state is devoid of really worthwhile food. I drive an hour an half routinely to try shit because maybe there's Caribbean in Claremont. Getting giddy for new fast food is icky, imo. That said, I am stoked for popeyes

Detail I was unaware of. Looking at these folks, forgive me, I don't doubt time and circumstance is relative. I would put forth it isn't heartless. Clueless, numb, scared, etc. I doubt they were careless or unconcerned. I bet self concern was one of the selfish ideas worried about.

Inaction isn't carelessness for addicts. They've overwhelmed by minutiae, often. This was immediate need to ignore. This couldn't be ignored. It's fucked up.

This was someone 'close' to them. They're fucked up on drugs. Barely living themselves. A dead body isn't ignored because they enjoy it or don't care. You might forget or disregard takeout in the fridge for an extra day because you're not hungry or busy. For them, this was likely similar. Drugs are bad

Damn and shit. Sounds like it wasn't malicious harm or intential death. They were drugged up and dude died. Panic set it. Self-preservation instincts. By not entirely with it folks. Mastermind of this operation seems a little cold and calculated but something needed to be done, I suppose. Calling 911 should've been the move.

Horrible situation. They certainly shouldn't be commended. And they certainly shouldnt get off. They should've been able to call 911 without worrying about what happens next, besides whether or not the guy stayed dead, imo

I get it, because I'm pretty stoked about concord Popeyes. Which, for those uninitiated, half of their traditional charm is they will fuck up your order. Which probably won't be seen as part of the charm around here.

But there are so many people around here. Some with money, some with taste. Some with culture, some just bored. Wtf is everything 'new' to new Hampshire just am infiltration of strip mall bullshit that kinda sucks and costs too much for what it is but we heard about it?

That's exactly what it is. It's a biological lifeform requiring all metabolic function from its host.

Call it parasitic tendencies if it makes it seem less spooky to think about. The mother and father both hopefully love it as they will their potential future child. In the mean time, they regard it as nourishing, providing, gestation, etc.

True. They have at least one of the necessary independent traits to survive, though, no? Independent heart/dependent lungs, vice versa. Brain function. Something. Machines can do a long but They cannot do everything. Mother does everything until delivery. Then it's up to the delivery from there. Birth/life begins at delivery

Completely agree. Finger wagging to say the verbiage will work against your argument, but it's true. Until it's independently surviving (breathing, with a pulse, and with self-sufficient metabolism), it is still an appendage/parasite/growth.

Edit: that leaves out in the cold a shot load of independent people that can't do those things, of course. But flopping into earth requires at least an independent pulse
