If boston had 5-6 highways going into the city there wouldn't be a city center it would just be highways and parking lots. If you dream of cities like this you can visit literally anywhere in middle america of the west coast that isn't chicago

The things that make MA nice for locals make it nice for immigrants too. You would need protectionist policies and to limit immigration significantly to house everyone even if we built like crazy. This is impractical being the state with the most colleges driving a huge influx of young talent every year.

Meanwhile we are telling families to live 2 hours out of the city they work in if they want to be able to afford kids on a 200k salary. Why is it unreasonable for her to commute to her support community, or build a new one elsewhere for that matter? She’s had her whole life to make decisions to set herself up for a decent retirement but now we’re all supposed to subsidize her having no savings while not being able to provide good education to inner city kids at the beginning of their lives?

The article said they wont move but could someone please explain this to me? If your living in your car why would you not just drive an hour south or west and find a cheaper place in CT RI or western MA? You can always drive back to eastern MA to see your old community and still have a place to sleep thats a bit further out.

You realize there are tons of poor people, including in these neighborhoods, that don’t break any laws right? We’re talking about less than a hundred murderers in a city of 700k. Comparing it to why rich people buy yachts is frankly ridiculous. Rich people aren’t victimized when their neighbor buys a yacht

Because it’s a predominantly black neighborhood? Again the murder rate is lower than many cities in America so idk what you’re upset about. It sounds like you wish there were more white victims or perpetrators of murder in Boston.

You realize that the vast majority of these murders were also committed by black people right? Overall Boston still has an extremely low murder rate per capita so how is this some kind of racist issue?

You realize only a handful of countries have nukes that are capable of hitting the US today right? Its mostly the ones we dont regularly bomb, but if we gave every semi organized militia the ability to hit us with a simple rocket and cause a nuclear explosion.. yeah that is a big risk

Nuclear sounds good until your plant becomes a target for bombing during a war

Not in MA, where the rich might actually outnumber the poor
