I thought the people on this sub abhor tipping so I’m confused by how this is a bad thing?

Pizza J is my favorite pizza in town and I would strongly recommend trying it! Lately it’s been even better than before. I love holding up a slice with a crispy bottom, no tip sag, but also beautifully cooked without being burnt/charred.

Piemonte is not good pizza at all. I’m always shocked it gets recommended on here.

The irony being that IPAs are an English style beer 😂

I tried it when they first opened and was so disappointed. Cold pastrami on cold bread with cold kraut and Kens Russian dressing. Is it still made that way?

Racist comments are never ever ok but also… how did this customer sit there for 4.5 hours and mooch hot water for free from the workers and nobody on the staff said anything? If someone is hanging out in a business and not consuming, the staff has every right to ask the customer to leave.

Also what’s wrong with calling people “white”, Caucasian actually just means something else, there’s a whole region in Asia called the Caucasus. The term Caucasian is linked to the word Mongoloid, which we also don’t use anymore.

The city can change its mind and ask for their cut. Nothing is written in stone. It’s almost like we’re penalizing present citizens for the actions of past politicians. Sounds like the present folks in office are smarter and that’s a welcome change.

It doesn’t matter that they’re now being grubby.The show runners got a free ride for a long minute and they aren’t owed that anymore. You know, the city putting on their business thinking cap is a good thing for its citizens. Imagine if the city could raise revenue from this instead of taxing us more.

The city is currently providing a set for a TV show for free, as well as the talent. That’s a pretty profitable enterprise for whoever runs the show, and normally a show would incur all those costs. Why can’t the city charge their fair share? Idk maybe use it to fund a driver education program! This place needs one.

Where on the east side is a 20 min drive from Brown? I would say the East Side feels like North Cambridge, super residential with a few hubs of commercial activity.

Love this write up. What a slick con man. Maybe there’s an opportunity for restaurants to advertise together in more meaningful ways without someone taking a hefty cut. How does restaurant week do, for example?

I doubt their business is down honestly, I don’t like the food but they hustle and it’s a unique concept so I’m sure they do great business. I just wish that the business owners would stop behaving like they own the street. The complaints are stupid and if they want a ton of parking, they should be in the suburbs. Streets are for everybody, especially in a city.

That’s what surprised me as well. Or like at least not anti-bike. We can’t expect everyone to openly support it, but openly detracting is pretty spicy when the ethos of your business is sustainability.

Yea it comes off as highly inconsistent to be pro-environment on all fronts except when it comes to putting up a bike lane in front of your shop. I have to admit I prefer other vegetarian restaurants better for the food anyway…

Where are you getting that I’ve never tasted the Durks burger before? Of course I have tried it, I wouldn’t be able to comment on it otherwise. I guess the rest of the burger world is doing it wrong to include LTO in their burgers, you really have your work cut out to evangelize on your beliefs. Have fun!
