I think Hanks is great as Forrest but I do think it’s isn’t even that good of an acting job.
Besides the scenes of him crying, I feel like most people could take an acting class, watch Forrest Gump a few times and then be able to do the Gump voice, mannerisms etc, it wouldn’t be the easiest but putting on that voice and having the same facial expression that Hanks had for 90% of the movie wouldn’t be that hard

I just find it funny and cool subverting of expectations when the badass, gunslinger with experience in killing natives gets taken out first and only end up killing one of the Troglodytes

Reply to So I watched my first ever Tarantino movie: Inglourious Basterds. It's one glorious bastard. by Comic_Book_Reader
Watch all Tarantino movies. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill (V1-V2), Death Proof (Imo, his worst film, not all bad, just not good), Django:Unchained (IMO, the best), Hateful 8, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
You should probably also watch his script movies, True Romance and Natural Born Killers, Dusk till Dawn, these are both written by Tarantino, True Romance is probably the best and most similar to Tarantino in style
