I am going to preface this by saying I don’t enjoy open ended endings. So for me- the handmaids tale, and the giver. Great reads but the ends make me infuriated. I also recently watched The Lobster, and if I could have thrown a movie I would have.

I knew someone else would feel this!! Genuinely one of the worst endings ever.

I became suspicious of this book as soon as all the mlm, scentsy, doterra girls I know started waving it around like it was the holy grail.

About a boy. I think it was the first time I had experienced humor and sarcasm to that scale in a book. I remember reading it in my British literature class my senior year and getting busted for not reading the assigned text because I burst out laughing.

I think anxiety has always been around, just called by different names- like hysteria, phantoms, manifestations. I’ll take a Zoloft or a joint over electro shock therapy.
I do think American society in particular has created a harder to live in world.
