Kudos to you for taking the time and reporting and following up so others too can have a safe walk. It happened to me on multiple occasions but I simple kept ignoring it. Hope there is a positive outcome out of all this

Reply to Just got our lease renewal numbers. For a 12 month lease renewal, our rent will increase over 10%. I don't see how this is sustainable long term. by chazthetic
One of the main culprit for rent increase, unfortunately is that the property taxes in Jersey City almost doubled last year

A latte used to cost $3-4 few years back now it’s $6 and up. You then add the demand for increased tipping like 18% from the 0 to 10% before and you quickly realize how expensive everything has become. Tipping IMO is going to break soon as it’s a hypocritical practice, those who take tips usually do not give the same tips when the tables are turned. To each their own if you can tip 20 or 25% good for you but don’t force tips.. it’s always supposed to be optional.

The fact so many people are interacting on “Tips” topic just shows how out of control the tipping is after covid. When did we start tipping 20% for coffee or for takeouts. There needs to be something done where employer pays more and we patrons also need to pay more but it’s a fixed amount and we know it before hand.

Why do you have to justify your tips. Tips are not required and 20 percent os a lot so much so that you pressure other people to give that kind of tip

I wish I had the ability to vote and at the same time the percentage of people come out to vote is so low. How would you get meaningful change if you do nit exercise your right to vote

wife had to quit the job to take care of the baby. Just could not afford daycare that was costing 20-30 k per year and honestly did not see any value in it at such a young age. Just ridiculous. For reasons like this I miss Europe. Kids and medical are freaking expensive here

At this point fuck it.. just sell your kidneys to the billionaires now. At some point people should literally use their voting power to make sure who they appoint do a good job and easily help understand what’s the return on the money being invested

How does buying help now? Prices are through the roof, rates are higher and Jersey City property taxes keep increasing as if everyone earns a million dollars here. To top that job security is at its worst.
