Reply to Unpopular opinion: Arcane is the greatest video game-based tv show of all time by Sorry_Village13
Arcane is a great show, but man now I’m starting to think it’s massively overrated.

I’m also very tired of this Netflix circlejerk. They aren’t even getting their own arguments right anymore, although pretty sure that dude is a troll and doesn’t mean it

That’s getting deeper into it, yeah. I was just explaining the very basics of the Netflix hate argument related to what he was saying. There’s lots of factors like completion rates, budget, fan reception, popularity, views, individual views, etc to get into. I’m not a Netflix hater despite my comment sounding like one.

Not really. In order to NOT get canceled at Netflix, you have to be as big as Wednesday, Stranger Things, or Bridgerton. Netflix constantly canceled niche but really good shows that might take a season or two to catch on, and Netflix terminates those shows too fast. What you’re talking about was never a Netflix complaint and I think you misunderstand the issue with Netflix cancellations in general.
Or you’re trying to be funny in which case haha very good

Carnival Row is super great except for the rich people romance plot. That part is okay but Bloom’s story is great. Does not deserve that 57%.
Imo V-Wars deserved lower. Not a good show at all even if I enjoyed Ian S in it

Reply to It has been more than a week since the first season of The Last of Us ended. What are your thoughts and opinions about it? by mrnicegy26
Big fan of the game. Loved the show, love these characters and this story. It’s a 10/10 from me and one of my favorite shows of all time now. I don’t think people need to be choosing which is better, the show or the game. Both are peak in their respective mediums.
>How does the show compare the original video game? Does it surpass it or does it fall short? What does it gain from being a TV show and what does it long from not being a video game?
I mean the original will always be better, as the game is pretty much flawless. The show does come close and I'm very glad it exists. The show got to extend the prologue and had some standout moments that were new, like "I'm failing in my sleep" and "It wasn't time that did it"
>Will it lead to more video game adaptations?
The real question is: Will it lead to more GOOD video game adaptions
>How does the show also compare to the zombie hit The Walking Dead that ended recently?
The Walking Dead is kinda bad outside of season 1 so...
>How does the show compare to other beloved HBO shows? Is it better than HBO's other big hit House of Dragon?
I also love HotD, but yeah. This isn't any kind of knock on HotD though.
> How does it compare to the critical and awards darling that is Succession?
Not the biggest fan of Succession specifically (so far at least, currently in season 2 to catch up for the big finish I'm hearing about), but it's prestige TV and I wouldn't be surprised to see it with all the other HBO genre shows on a "best of" list with Deadwood, Game of Thrones, The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, Rome, etc.
