If you love Bethesda games, you should definitely buy a Xbox. But I must say, if you have $1,000 to spend I’d honestly recommend buying both Xbox and PS5 this generation.

There are a ton of great exclusives on PlayStation and games with good use of the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Then on Xbox you have Halo, Forza, Gears, all of the backward compatible games from previous generations, and Gamepass.

To me, this made the most sense. I don’t have a ton of time to game being a father and having a full time job, so when I do I want to play the games that I want with no restrictions on exclusivity or age.

That’s just my opinion, but I’ve loved both and have used both regularly!

I recently picked up a PS5 Digital to go alongside my Series X.

If all you want to play is multiplat games, multiplayer games, backwards compatible games, and/or games that are currently under the Microsoft umbrella, I think the Series X is a very great machine. It runs everything well and went above my expectations when it came to game performance, load times, and user friendliness.

That being said, I have also really loved having a PS5 so that I can play not only the exclusives, but also games that fully utilize the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the PS5 controller.

To me, the PS5 feels more “next gen” and if you can do it, eventually it would be worth it to own both as both have their strengths and weaknesses.

I have tended to play my PS5 more these days, but that simply is because I’ve been enjoying the exclusives while I wait for Xbox to do something in 2023.
