For what we spend on that helicopter we could train new ones and give them a decent salary. This is just a stupid use of resources - and rather than creating more resources for the community it's focused on punishing people, which is an objectively dumb way too deal with most societal problems that could be solved by creating more resources.

More like, "I'll take Things someone who has been forced to interact with the police would say" Some of you still think the cops are out here to help you, and you are gonna have a nasty awakening someday.

And you think the cops are going to help you? LOL.

I'm not saying I want drug dealers on the street - I'm saying that cops don't actually help in these situations, so we need to come up with alternative ways to help our communities. Because cops in general don't have any interest in helping their communities, let alone Baltimore Cops.

Maybe they just understand addiction is a lot more complicated than you are making it and ruining their lives and endangering them by calling the police doesn't actually make the problem go away, it just disappears people into for profit prisons.

Don't call the cops... pretty much ever. They don't help anyone and more often than not they needlessly escalate the situation. See if there are any social workers in your area who help with addiction.

I appreciate your comment here - but the sticker was created as backlash to Trump calling Baltimore a "shithole city" if I recall correctly. I think a lot of the people who probably put that sticker on their vehicle do it as a point of pride. I don't ever think it was intended to be "inspirational" as you put in your post though. Just, that there are good things here, that people who don't live here don't see, because FOX news is busy demonizing this city. I don't honestly know the demographic of people who put this sticker on their car, but I can tell you that I feel like the message of it is that there is more to this city than what outsiders think.

He was a conspiracy theorist who on multiple occasions tweeted doctored video of Obama that were really racist. He was an avid Trump supporter who made his black players identify pictures of Donald Trump in practice. When he went to MSU He made a bunch of racist tweets - at one point he had to apologize to his own players because they said they wouldn't play until he did because he tweeted some really fucked up imagery of a noose with a not-so-thinly veiled message about hanging a black man.

He was just a fucking piece of shit, and no one should mourn a bigot.

This is wild! I had almost the exact same experience. I moved to Baltimore from Seattle in March of 2019, which is a trip all by itself (I can't recommend moving at the beginning of a global pandemic, but I'm still glad I did). This is so cool, and I love it!
