Metamorphosis and In Search of Lost Time aren’t too action packed. I think if you’re looking at “literary fiction” you’ll find a lot of books without much plot written by men. But I agree what you’re saying seems true a lot of the time.

Maybe your reading isn’t very broad. It’s not like female characters tend to have similar personalities in books in general.

It could have to have something to do with your personality. Maybe you automatically identify with male characters more easily, for whatever reason.

It’s an impulse decision, like purchasing skincare products I never use or eating too much ice cream. I don’t know why. The reasons are buried in my psyche.

I’ll definitely pick up books in stores and look at them based on the cover. And pass them by based on the cover. If you’re unfamiliar with the book, you don’t have anything else to go on, and you can’t look at every book.

It really depends on what you’re reading here. Reading VC Andrews all day doesn’t make anyone an intellectual, although it can be entertaining.
