Fall of 2021? I’m surprised the phone hasn’t already been stripped for parts.

It’s possible the person that has your phone is telling the truth. It’s also possible that they’re the one that stole your phone or know the person that did. Regardless, don’t send them your Apple ID password under any circumstances and don’t send them money hoping they’ll ship you the phone.

Like mentioned earlier, ask them to ship you the phone for free so you can get your photos and remove the activation lock/factory reset it. I doubt they will but if they do send it for free they’re more than likely telling you the truth. After that it’s up to you if you want to send your phone back to them. At the end of the day it is your phone despite the other persons circumstance.

You won’t miss what you’ve never had.

That said, I use the island all the time with Spotify in the background. Same goes for background phone calls on speaker. Less intrusive system notifications are also nice but not a big deal.

If you have the extra money I would get a pro model. The display alone is worth it. But again, if you’ve never had a 120hz OLED display you won’t miss that either.

“You can expect that if a customer defaults on an Apple Pay Later product, they will not be offered the chance to use it again, and other features of their Apple ID may be disabled until their account is back in good standing.”

So basically ya’ll better pay your loan or apple’s going to lock your Apple ID and brick your shit

I have my updates set to “download only” to avoid any potential issues like this. There aren’t many updates that are so important that they require immediate application. When I have a spare ten minutes, and I’m not using my phone, I install the already downloaded update.

As far as a lawsuit for material loss, your loss was avoidable by adjusting your settings. I’m sure there’s lawyers out there that will pick it up as a class action..they love those. But unless apple settles, it wont be difficult proving the user shares some responsibility.

“They told me that the phone needs to update to iOS 16”

All 14’s come with iOS 16 out of the box. Which retailer did you buy it from? If it has an older iOS installed it’s definitely a fake iPhone and not a good one either.

What do you mean by “not working”? Is it not powering on? You need to be more specific if you want someone’s help.
