That bill is so bad for DC statehood. Makes us seem unable to self govern. Like crimes going up, let’s make it even worse by making sentences less.

Makes sense that senators and congressman would care - they live her part of the time. See that congresswoman who was attacked in an elevator by someone who had assaulted like 8 other people but kept being released.

But protests aren’t all the same. They have different energy, etc. like my example a pro choice and an anti abortion protests would feel entirely different. OP should go to one about an issue they actually care about.

Lol you don’t care what’s it about - that’s odd. A protest is about something - you really don’t care if you are protesting abortions or protesting restrictions on abortions? Seems like you lack understanding of the point of a protest.

Lol seriously! Then north side of Chicago is super safe? I think it be good for you to explore some new places. DC is amazing - beautiful architecture, fantastic museums, delicious food!

We are talking about people who have refused aid from the city which is often because they don’t want drug testing

So you are or are not willing to rent to a known drug user?
How would you feel if they lived next door and brought their drug user friends over all the time?

I mean it’s not. Giving housing to people who are active drug users has consequences too.

That people who want help can get free rehab and then housing.
People who don’t want help can’t be helped. Not everything has a solution

So who should have to shelter people who do drugs and likely won’t take care of their space. You willing to rent out a room to one?
I’d rather not have city paid drug dens.

I mean it depends on what you want to do and what you enjoy. You could spend half a day (or more) in one that really interests you or you could see one exhibit and leave quickly. Most of them are close together so that will help

This appears incorrect. Please provide any proof that many are closed on weekends. In the winter, DC will transport someone 24 hours a day to a shelter if they are in need.

I mean hypothermia conditionals means you should want people in the “inadequate shelters” over the streets. The shelters have heat.
Parks are not meant for small communities to live, they are meant for everyone to join. Maybe they can try to put everyone in the same shelter so they can stay with the people they know.
