I dabble in star citizen and I'm with you on this. I enjoy it but it's such a cash grab. They pour resources into shiny new systems and charge high prices for ships to go with those systems but then never finish the systems. I'm not convinced that this isn't their intended business model. They make so much money doing it.
Edit to add that they even sell ship concepts. You can spend about 2k for a ship that will maybe release in a year or two... but probably not
