Reply to Stamford to White Plains Commute by APHCT
I commute from Stamford to Scarsdale. I take 95 to 287, getting off in White Plains to head south into Scarsdale. It's usually about 45 minutes for me. On my late days (don't go in until the afternoon) or my Saturday morning shifts it barely takes a half hour. Coming home at 5pm is usually 45 minutes to an hour.

Avoid Hoyt-Bedford apartments.

Are you breaking the lease due to problems in the building? I just recently broke a lease for a number of issues in a building and because I kept actually reporting the issues the office was fed up with me and opted to not enforce the line in my lease requiring me to continue paying until it was occupied.

Yes! Used them to move from LI to Stamford. They arrived early and were very fast.

If you live in Stamford the Ferguson Library is where you will get a library card. I don't know too much about the libraries in the surrounding towns as I'm relatively new to Stamford as well. Sometimes a library will allow those that live out of district to attend programs, other times they do not. I just happen to be a librarian in a different county and know that many libraries will offer classes.

Check the library! Often libraries will have classes and programs that are free or low cost.

I've been out of college for years, but I started at UHart and left after an English professor handed us a book I had read in the 6th grade for a class. Unsure if things have changed but it wasn't a great school in the 3 semesters I was there.

I live right where you're describing. Heard nothing, not even sirens.
